Fiona Dalgetty - fiddle and dance caller
Fiona is an accomplished performer and, in addition to her work with Highland Ceilidh, she has previously been a member of Òr and the Auld Reekie Ceilidh Band. Fiona has performed as far afield as the USA, China and Eastern Europe and she has featured on several television programmes including Jamie Oliver’s The Naked Chef, the BBC2 Mòd programme, and STV’s Ceòl na Fìdhle. Fiona was delighted to be invited to perform on Niel Gow’s fiddle at the Royal National Mòd in 2004.
David Nisbet - accordion and dance caller
David is from the Scottish Borders, where he grew up learning the accordion under the tuition of the late Bill Sharp. At competitions, he has won many sections around the country across various musical genres. He is a former UK Open Duet Champion and represented the UK at the Frosini Grand Prix European Final, held in Stockholm. Since then, David has performed at events and festivals across Europe, Scandinavia and the United States, as well as many in his home country. He has also recorded for BBC Scotland's Take the Floor.
Colin Delmonte - drums and woodwind
Colin is a talented multi-instrumentalist who plays percussion, saxophone and whistles with the band. However, Colin’s first instrument is the bassoon! Growing up in Tain, Colin was taught bassoon by local woodwind instructor, David Evans. He went onto study the bassoon at university and graduated BA Applied Music from the University of Strathclyde. Colin loves many different styles of music and, as well as playing with Highland Ceilidh, Colin plays drums with art pop band, Marram.
Ruairaidh Campbell - piano and guitar
Ruairaidh was initially taught piano by Winifred Moir before gaining a place to study at the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music in Plockton. Ruairaidh has built up an impressive portfolio of freelance work
including performance, teaching and composition. He performs with a variety of different groups, and is an accomplished classical and jazz musician. He also a member of rock band The Side.
